For most of history, women's stories were told about them — by historians, or husbands, and perhaps through an autobiography.
And we've inherited that habit without even noticing it: we wait. We wait to be chosen, quoted, introduced, credited — as if permission is a prerequisite for truth.
But here's what I've learned through my work, rebuilding something from nothing: the story doesn't wait for you to be ready, and it definitely doesn't wait for someone else to notice you're worth telling.
If you don't pick up the pen, someone else will — and they'll get it wrong, or worse, it will be their version of how they see you.
So stop waiting for validation. You were never meant to be a footnote in someone else's narrative. Tell it yourself — messy, unfinished, imperfect — because an imperfect story in your own voice will always outlast a polished one in someone else's.
Why are we waiting for someone else to tell our story - when the truth is we can do it ourselves...
Tune in and I'll tell you how!
